WOW, what a great day we had today. Normally, I don't take this many pictures, but I wanted to make sure I had pictures of all the students. I was not able to take any pictures from some of the projects we did this morning, it was just too busy.
The students colored a paper pal of themselves. They are hanging in the hallway for all to see. (i'll post a picture tomorrow). Chester, our puppet raccoon, was in the class today, meeting all of the students. He was cute, giving out kisses and handshakes. The students loved it. After the handprint worksheet, I did a felt board puppet show on the numbers 1-10. Afterwards, we talked about the color red, practiced saying the letters, reading the word, and then doing a coloring worksheet of a red apple.
Tomorrow I will start assessing the students so that I can place them at the right level for their reading and math programs. We will continue through the week doing projects which relate to the Kissing Hand unit.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to enrich your child's life. I know, it's going to be a fantastic year.
