Day 44,

Oh, it's getting so exciting in our classroom. I am so proud of the students learning to follow rules, cleaning up after themselves, walking quietly in the hall, doing their work carefully and neatly, and so on and so on. Now that we have evolved to the next level, behavior ways, I am announcing our first field trip!!!!!!!!!!!! Permission slips will go home tomorrow.

On Monday, we will walking to Mrs. Vidal's house to decorate cookies. Mrs. Vidal will show us how she makes and colors the icing, as well as how she decorates them. We will then have a turn at putting our creative decorating on our own cookies. This lesson corresponds with our letter C.
Tomorrow we will be reading the book "Who Took the Cookie from the Cookie Jar."

Today we all read to Morah J, as it was her first day back. She was so proud to hear all of the students reading and writing nicely. We first started off with a worksheet of capital and lower case letters. This was a bit difficult for the students. From there, we decorated the front and back of our C books. The front said "candy" and the back said "I am 5 years old". They also decorated a paper cupcake.

Since the projects didn't take as long today, the students had time for centers. Alot of them worked on the logic folder games.

In the afternoon, we continued in our math workbook, chapter 2 (counting and matching). We worked on "which has fewer" and "adding one more".

On Friday, we will be making a C salad with items that start with only C. Please let your child bring one thing to school...cabbage (purple or green), cauliflower, a carrot or two, cucumber, or croutons.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE PARENTS WHO ARE NOW SENDING HEALTHY SNACKS OF FRUIT AND VEGGIES TO SCHOOL. I am trying to encourage healthier options as to empty calorie carbs, such as chips, crackers, etc. The students are very excited to show their fruit and veggies that they bring.
